Shinawatra University Project in Thailand

Project Overview

Shinawatra University (SIU) is a renowned university founded in 1999 by former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra with the approval of the Thai Ministry of Education. The university has two campuses, both located in Bangkok, Thailand. The Master's and Doctoral Campus is located in OAI Tower, a bustling commercial district in the heart of Bangkok. It is adjacent to Srinakharinwirot University and is surrounded by shopping malls, offering convenient transportation and urban convenience. The Undergraduate Campus, located at the main campus in Pathum Thani Province, a suburb of Bangkok, spans over 750 acres and boasts modern teaching facilities and a beautiful campus environment. It is hailed as one of Thailand's most beautiful universities.

This project constructed new dormitory buildings 1#-6#, each with seven floors and approximately 30 dormitories per floor. The dormitories housed appliances such as small kitchen appliances, water heaters, and air conditioners. For electrical safety , over-power tripping will be required, and the billing system also be needed for the dormitory electricity usage.

Project Solution

Platform Construction: This project's monitoring scope covers dormitories 1#-6#. To ensure electrical safety in university dormitories, it requires implementing over-power tripping, scheduled switch on/off, remote metering, prepayment charging. The software supports multiple languages, and a data interface will be reserved for the Smart Campus Platform.

Monitoring content includes:

 42 pcs ADF400L multi-circuit meter for dormitory floor distribution boxes;

 6 pcs ANet gat

Project Effects

1.Electrical Safety

Based on circuit safety and load capacity requirements, an overpower trip protection is implemented. This  ensures electrical safety in densely populated areas such as university dormitory buildings.

2.Improve Efficiency

The platform enables fully automated scheduled switching operations for dormitory circuits:

- Daily timer-controlled circuit breaker

switching (on/off)

- Weekend and workday mode

- Zero manual intervention, reducing labor costs and improving operational efficiency

3.Financial Manage

The system can calculate revenue for each time period by day, month, and year, distinguishing by charge type and payment method. It can also calculate energy bills by dormitory, further assisting with school financial management.
