Hong Kong Green Campus Energy Management System

To promote green campuses, the Hong Kong SAR Government's Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) launched a tender for energy-saving retrofits in public schools. This included not only replacing LED lights and implementing variable-frequency air conditioning controls, but also installing a real-time energy monitoring system in each school. The Acrel EMS energy management system was ultimately selected for implementation.

Software Features

Comprehensive Dashboard

Comprehensively display the school's overall electricity consumption, including today's, this week's, this month's, and this year's electricity consumption and year-on-year analysis, hourly, daily, and monthly analysis of energy consumption by item, and percentage analysis, classroom energy usage ranking and percentage, carbon emissions and carbon footprint statistics, sharing of electricity-saving and environmental protection tips, rolling energy-saving suggestions, etc.

Electricity Consumption Statistics

Hourly, daily, and monthly energy consumption statistics are compiled by energy item, region, and distribution circuit. The results are displayed in tables or bar charts and can be exported to Excel.

Software Features

Dataset Collection

Collects electrical parameters from each power distribution circuit at hourly intervals

Aggregates all data on a single interface to significantly reduce manual meter reading workload

Historical Data Records

The system saves various parameters collected for at least 3 years, saves the frequency of 5 minutes, and can query the historical data of the specified time period and display it in curves, charts, and tables;

Project Features

The software supports simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, and English, catering to diverse language preferences.

Developed based on HTML5, the software supports anytime, anywhere access via a browser.

The system utilizes the school's Wi-Fi network, reducing cabling and implementation costs.

The software meets real-time data collection requirements while also offering powerful statistical and analytical capabilities.

The system's debugging process is standardized and easy to use. Customers can implement the system locally after receiving remote guidance.

Three roles are defined, corresponding to the government's Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, school staff, and students in different classes, each with varying operational and data access permissions.

Because the ANet gateway features local storage and resumable downloads, data is preserved even during wireless network fluctuations or server shutdowns or reboots, reducing maintenance and after-sales costs.
